Rule #1 of Producing:

When a big story happens, you go BIG.

And they don’t get much bigger - or more historic - than a papal conclave.

Of course, neither the Catholic Church - nor the NBC accountants - would let us send the anchors to Vatican City to cover the story from the Sistine Chapel.

So we did the next best thing —

We brought the Sistine Chapel to 30 Rock, with the help of some technical wizardry from NBC News’ Artworks and Virtual Reality Production teams.

What resulted is a masterpiece that might even impress Michelangelo.
